For the MIOC BLITZ 2026 chess tournament at Zagreb XV. Gymnasium (MIOC), we designed a contemporary set of awards for School Day, replacing conventional trophies with pieces that celebrate the effort and ingenuity demonstrated on the chessboard.
This collection combines geometric precision, tradition, and modern aesthetics. It includes octagonal plate awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with gold, silver, and bronze inserts, a “Top Placing Female Chess Player” award, and a larger organiser award featuring the official logos of the school and the “Maksimirski gambit” chess club.

Main characteristics
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards are 110 mm modular silver octagonal plates with highly reflective gold, silver, and bronze inserts and sharply contrasted engraved elements. The “Top Placing Female Chess Player” award (125x175 mm) and the organiser award (175x225 mm) are crafted on a light wood base with a contrasting bronze inscription and precise engraving.
